NEW KINGSTON BRING THE FYAH TO NEW YORK CITY FOR THEIR ANNUAL HEADLINING SHOWCASE TICKETS FOR APRIL 15TH AT THE HIGHLINE BALLROOM AVAILABLE NOW
(New York, NY) - Hot off a hugely successful 2016 campaign that saw new music aplenty in the form of EP Kingston Fyah and the single “i”, New Kingston is set to entertain fans with a continuation of their annual New York City headlining performance. The year’s show will be at the Highline Ballroom in the heart of the Chelsea neighborhood. Advance tickets are on sale for $15 with discounts for large groups. The 700-capacity venue will provide an intimate setting for the massive stylings of New Kingston.
The band has been making waves since reaching #1 on the Billboard Reggae Charts with their 2015 Easy Star Records release Kingston City, and they haven’t let up since, releasing captivating music videos that have amassed hundreds of thousands of views collectively. The band hasn’t slowed down in 2017, showing a taste of their highly-developed live talents on tastemaker Sirius XM station The Joint in late January.
New Kingston is best described as an “Urban Conscious Reggae” family. Since 2006, the band of brothers – Tahir (keys), Courtney Jr. (drums), and Stephen (guitar) – have harnessed their dual identities, in order to craft an entirely unique sound that pays homage to their roots. This band of brothers, under the watchful eye of their father (and bassist) Courtney Panton Sr., dubbed themselves New Kingston, to appropriately reflect the combination of their Jamaican heritage and their present lives in progressive New York City. It is the fusion of these two identities, both their cultural roots and their current home, that guides their musical and stylistic direction.
